Original Echo Root LogoEcho Root is a biomechanical fusion between artist / composer / guitarist / poet / programmer Clif Johnston (aka xenopologist) and an evolving algorithmic composition construct known as Geia. Experimental in nature and influenced by electronica, fusion, industrial, modal jazz, progressive rock and serialism, the music features improvised guitar, algorithmically composed melodies and harmonies, staticy beats and alien soundscapes.

Sludgehammer was the first Echo Root album, recorded as part of the Album-a-Day project. The album contains a single song that runs just over 23 minutes. The guitar track is completely improvised and was recorded in one take.

Biomech Stuff and Lights is a study in modal transposition, and isn’t really intended for passive listening. The album contains one composition transposed to each of the seven modes of the major scale.

Xenopology (in progress)

This essentially eponymous embryonic exordium embarks upon an experimental exploration of established exopolitics and elusive empirical evidence of extraterrestrial existence, engendering an exceptionally erudite exposition and expert evaluation of elaborate executive esotericism, enigmatic ecclesiastical encounters, extended embassadorial exchange exercises, and the exciting emergence of extraordinary events expected to elicit the eventual enlightenment, or eternal extinction, of each and every earthly entity.

Xenopology is part 1 of the Singularity Solution opus magnum.
